Welcome!
I am so excited to be teaching science at Woodward Middle School, where I have taught since 2015! I grew up in Washington State and graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Zoology. I then returned to UW to receive my teaching certificate in elementary education, with endorsements in general science and biology. I have three sons, a dog named Murphy, and a parrot named Hal.
In the past, I have taught 8th grade science and 6th grade in the North Kitsap School District, Robotics and Engineering to grades 2-12 at a private school in San Diego, and 4th-8th grade science at a private school in La Jolla, CA.
My favorite activities to do outside of teaching are hiking, nature photography, traveling, stand up paddle boarding, camping, reading, spending time with family and friends, and playing board games. I have a goal of exploring all 50 states and all US National Parks. I can't wait to share stories from my trips, especially all of the wonderful geology I have seen across the US.
I'm looking forward to another great year of teaching at Woodward Middle School. Go Wildcats!!
