About Me
Welcome to Woodward Middle School! I have been a school counselor in the Bainbridge Island School District since 2012. I have two sons who attended schools in the BISD and I currently live on the island with my husband and dog, Chopper. I graduated from the University of Washington in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication and graduated from Seattle Pacific University in 2012 with a Master of Education in School Counseling. I received my National Boards in School Counseling in 2022. A focus and educational passion of mine as a school counselor is teaching and creating programs that foster character and value development in students. In 2022 I had the opportunity to research Character Education in Singapore on a Fulbright Research Fellowship. We incorporated what I learned with the help of a committee of Woodward educators by creating the Woodward Deep Dive which is a month-long series of events and lessons that focuses on developing the Woodward values of Integrity, Connection and Compassion in our students. I love working with middle school students and look forward to getting to know and working with you and your family during your time in middle school.
