Woodward Families,
As we move into this season of gratitude, I want to take a moment to share how thankful I am for our incredible students, their supportive families, and the dedicated staff who bring so much positive energy to our school each day.
This week in Seminar, students wrote their own notes of gratitude, and it was truly inspiring to see how many chose to write to their peers—reaching out to connect, encourage, and express appreciation for one another. Moments like these remind us just how strong and caring our school community is.
Over the weekend I have three challenges of gratitude and service for you to try out at home as a family:
Challenge #1: 24 Hour No-Tech Day
I challenge you to try a 24-hour period of time with low tech in your home–turn off the screens and store away the phones. Pull out the monopoly and old fashioned books–and see what happens! You can blame it on me if your teen is not so happy about it (-:
Challenge #2: Thank You Challenge
As a family, come up with a list of 100 things you are grateful for–list them together or divide them up and share them out loud. Keep the list and read it together occasionally as a reminder.
Challenge #3: Community Kindness
As a family, decide on an act of kindness to benefit your community. Leave flowers at a neighbors door–clean up litter on the beach–drop off food at Helpline–the options are endless!
Wishing you a very happy Thanksgiving,
