Woodward extends a heartfelt THANK YOU to all the Veterans who joined us for our annual Veterans Day Assembly on Monday, November 10th. We were deeply honored to welcome our own STEM/CTE teacher, Tim Harris, Senior Enlisted Advisor, Army Service Combatant Command Detachment, 303rd Information Operations Battalion, as our guest speaker.
We would also like to give a special shout-out to the many students who helped make the assembly so meaningful:
Gigi Gallagher, Phoenix Maricielo, Olivia Tebo, Chris Bourgeois, Mason Burch, Maytie Campbell-Martin, and Lily Criss.
Color Guard: Sam Brawley and Keaton Upsall
Woodward Choir and Band – thank you for your moving performances.
And a special recognition to Aiven Tracy, who performed Taps beautifully on the trumpet.
We are truly fortunate to have such talented, dedicated, and enthusiastic students and staff in our Woodward community.
With Gratitude,

November Staff Appreciation
The days may be getting shorter, but that just means we need a little extra light and warmth! Help us brighten our staff’s morning on Tuesday, November 18th with some cozy fall treats to show how much we appreciate all they do for our kids!
Make or buy something to drop off, or choose an item from our wish list to send directly to the school — whichever works best for you! Click here to sign up!

It's not too late to bring non-perishable food donations for the food fundraiser hosted by Builders' Club. The food drive will run through November 19. Builders' Club will then deliver the donations to Helpline House to help stock their shelves for the holiday season.
Students can drop off donations in their 4th period class. The top three classes with the most items win donuts!
Thank you for helping our community!

BISD will conduct a test of our emergency alert system on Thursday, Nov. 13 at 5 p.m.
This routine test helps ensure that we can quickly reach staff and families by phone, text, and email in the event of a real emergency or weather-related closure.
If you receive a message that day labeled “TEST MESSAGE”, no action is needed. It simply confirms that your contact information in ParentSquare is up to date and our system is functioning properly.
If you do not receive the test message, please check your ParentSquare settings or contact your school’s office to confirm your contact information.
To manage your settings in ParentSquare - please use this link:
Thank you for helping us make sure we can communicate quickly and effectively in any situation.

The student newsletter is a cool way to read about students' interests and things that have happened. Students can also write a piece of the newsletter. This great idea was created by Evelyn Purves, Ananya Vivek, Fiona Livingston, and Frances Daugherty. These students are all from leadership, a class taught by Ms. NJ. This week's newsletter features the band concert, clash, student intervention, and more. It will be on the student portal for students to read. If students want to write a piece for the newsletter, they can talk to any of the students above. — Abi Jelic, 8th Grade

On Monday, November 10th, Woodward held its annual Veterans’ Day assembly. We invited students to bring veterans from their families, and we were happy to welcome Mr. Maricielo, Mr. Daubenberger, Mr. Gordon, Mr. Wright, Mrs. Della Rockway, Mr. Rockway, Mrs. Goetz, Mr. Funke, Mr. Brawley, Mr. Bourgeois, Mr Burch, Mrs. Walthall, Mr. Walthall, Mr. Tillotson, and Mrs. Tillotson to our school.
We all stood as the Woodward choir sang the National Anthem, then student speakers shared about their families and how they have served in the U.S. Military. Speakers included Chris Bourgeois, Maytie Campell-Martin, Gigi Gallagher, Olivia Tebo, Phoenix Maricielo, Lily Criss, and Mason Burch. We also had our very own Timothy Harris share about his experiences in the U.S. Army.
Finally, we ended Woodward’s Veterans Day assembly with the Woodward band playing Marches of the Armed Forces, as well as Aiven Tracy playing Taps to honor fallen military members. — Penelope Hunt & Haley Kubin, 8th Grade
